What is “Ankle Compliance”?

Ankle Compliance describes the movement of the rim and its ability to twist locally around the spoke nipple, kind of like your ankle. Moving in this way, the energy from impacts is absorbed into the rocking motion. This means less vibration through the bike to the rider, which reduces rider fatigue, offers more control and reduced susceptibility to pinch flats.
